Abidjan, 1 October 2020 | ECAM, a cooperative that is coached by Enabel’s Trade for Development Centre, elected best cocoa cooperative of Côte d’Ivoire.
On 1 October 2020, the opening ceremony of the Côte d’Ivoire‘s 7th National Cocoa and Chocolate Day in Yamoussoukro was hosted by the President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattar. This year, the National Day’s slogan was ‘All engaged for cocoa, the forest’s friend’. It calls on everyone to take on responsibility and personally and collective commit to the fight against deforestation.
, a cooperative that is coached by Enabel’s Trade for Development Centre, was awarded the best cocoa cooperative of Côte d’Ivoire for its social activities and its impact on the community.
Assata Doumbia, the president of the cooperative, received the prize from the President of the Republic.
The prize for the best producer of the country was awarded to Yvette Nagalo Awa, a member of the ECAM cooperative.
Earlier this year. Assata visited Brussels and Enabel’s offices to testify of the impact of the Trade for Development Centre coaching on her cooperative. Since a few years, ECAM is leading the way in the region thanks to its success on the international market and its impact on the community.
