Brussels, 28 September 2020 | The Belgian development agency Enabel and Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) signed a partnership agreement with a view to sharing expertise serving the two organisations.
Through this agreement Enabel and FIT expand their national and international network and can share information and best practices and promote each other’s activities.
Enabel and FIT will collaborate under this partnership and organise study tours and seminars in Belgium or in partner countries of the Belgian international cooperation and set up activities fostering entrepreneurship and international cooperation. In June 2020, both organisations already worked together in a webinar to launch the Agropole agrofood industry hotspot in Senegal.
‘We ambition to spearhead development and that is why it is important for us to know the business sector well so we can apply the latest technologies and solutions in our projects,’ says Jean Van Wetter, Managing director of Enabel.
This partnership agreement with Flanders Investment & Trade is the third in a row of agreements with regional institutions fostering international entrepreneurship. Enabel signed partnership agreements with hub.brussels in 2019 and with Wallonia Brussels-International (WBI), the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (Awex) and the Association for the Promotion of Education and Training Abroad (Apefe) in 2020.
Enabel has signed a total of more than 60 partnerships with Belgian public entities, universities, national and international research centres, businesses and civil society organisations.
