Brussels/Vilnius, 11 May 2022 - European development cooperation organisations gathered at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania in Vilnius on 11-12 May at the Annual Meeting of the General Assembly of the Practitioners’ Network for European Development Cooperation (PN). This year’s meeting marked the 15th anniversary of the network and the end of the PN co-Presidency by the Lithuanian Central Project Management Agency (CPMA) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
Niamey, 9 May 2022 - Enabel, the Belgian Embassy, the Ministry of Public Health, Population and Social Affairs of Niger, the World Health Organisation (WHO), the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Belgian health sector platform Be-cause health (BCH) organise an international conference on Social Health Protection. Thursday 3 February 2022 | The Wehubit programme of Enabel backs five new EdTech projects to support the scale-up of educational technology and thus improve the quality and continuity of teaching and learning. The total funding amounts to EUR 1,602.000 and is financed by the DIRECCT-programme of the European Union. It will fund 5 projects in Rwanda, Tanzania, Niger and in Uganda.
The Belgian development agency Enabel and Belgium’s Federal Migration Centre Myria sign an agreement to strengthen their collaboration. Cooperation with this institution will strengthen Enabel’s human mobility activities in partner countries.
All 27 Ministers of Development Cooperation and Foreign Affairs of the EU have agreed on highlighting the mobilisation of public sector expertise and placing it at the core of the European Union’s external action. The Belgian development agency Enabel has been entrusted with the preparation and the implementation of the climate programme.

Kigali, 27 October 2021 | Sophie Wilmès visited Nyarugenge District Hospital today on the sidelines of the Second African Union-European Union Ministerial Meeting convened in Kigali, Rwanda. The hospital was built with Belgian funding by the Belgian development agency Enabel.

Brussels/ Geneva, 15 September 2021 | Enabel and the International Trade Centre (ITC), signed a cooperation agreement for a new EU-funded project that will enhance the development of the beekeeping value chain in six regions in Tanzania and contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the East-African country. The project will support the production of high-quality honey produced in an environmentally sustainable manner to increase the country’s penetration in the national and international market.
On 30 September, Enabel is organising a high-level networking event with a number of federal public services to highlight their partnerships and to get other public services, with whom no partnership has yet been concluded, interested in international cooperation.
Kigali, 12 August 2021 | In a bid to reduce dependency of African countries on the global supply of vaccines and facilitate access in areas where the COVID-19 crisis has highlighted shortages, Enabel, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, contributes to Rwanda’s goal of building a robust ecosystem in the biotech industry and to boost Rwanda’s readiness to manufacture vaccines and other pharmaceutical products.
