Research Enabel - Plan International: The conscious choices of committed young people
When it comes to young people and their engagement, everyone has an opinion. While the climate marches, the #metoo movement and the Black Lives Matter protests are recent examples of social engagement in which young people have taken a leading role, there are also doom and gloom discourses: young people are less interested in social issues, and the link with political life has been broken.
This is why Annoncer La Couleur and Kruit, Enabel's global citizenship education programmes, and Plan International Belgium have initiated a debate on social commitment and international solidarity with young people aged 14 to 24.
The two studies identified what social commitment and international solidarity really mean to young people.
