Enabel and Odoo join forces to advance digital transformation in international cooperation
Press release
Enabel, Belgium’s agency for international cooperation, and Odoo, a global open-source business management software solution, have signed a five-year partnership agreement for the implementation and use of Odoo’s platform across Enabel’s operations. The agreement was signed by Enabel’s CEO Jean Van Wetter and Odoo CEO and founder Fabien Pinckaers.
A platform to simplify work, for greater impact
Selected through a public tender, Odoo’s integrated platform will progressively bring together functions currently managed through separate applications – including human resources, finance, project management, procurement and logistics.
The ambition of this partnership is to enhance, simplify, and make the work of each project of Enabel more efficient. Fewer applications, better connected information, leaner processes and less administrative burden will allow Enabel to focus on what matters most. Indeed, its time, energy and resources will be even more dedicated to achieving greater impact for its partners and the people it serves.
“As Belgium’s agency for international cooperation, I am particularly proud that we are joining forces with a Belgian company that has become a global leader while remaining deeply rooted in Belgian entrepreneurship, innovation and pragmatism. This partnership reflects our conviction that Belgian expertise has a role to play well beyond our own transformation – including in supporting the growth of businesses in Africa and moving people way from the informal to the formal economy,” said Jean Van Wetter, CEO of Enabel.
A driver of business transformation in Africa
The potential of this partnership extends well beyond Enabel’s own digital transformation. Odoo’s rapidly growing presence across Africa positions it as a driver of transformation for local businesses: supporting entrepreneurship, strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises, and helping them transition from the informal to the formal economy.
By providing affordable and accessible digital management tools, technology can significantly boost productivity, growth, job creation and economic inclusion. Together with African partners, Enabel and Odoo look forward to exploring how this partnership can contribute to these ambitions.
Initiating a promising digital transformation with Odoo
The rollout of the platform will begin in the coming months, with functions being deployed progressively across Enabel’s operations in Belgium and in its partner countries. Enabel and Odoo will continue to work closely together throughout the process to ensure the transition delivers real value for Enabel’s teams and, ultimately, for the communities it serves.
This partnership between Enabel and Odoo reflects the commitment of the latter to guiding businesses and public institutions through the successful digitization of their operations.
“Odoo is delighted to have been chosen by Enabel as their management platform of choice. Our goal is, and always has been, to provide a solution that can cover every organisation’s needs, while being super intuitive, accessible, and affordable. Furthermore, we are very happy to support their mission to foster international cooperation and sustainable development by providing a reliable and efficient tool that can empower such meaningful operations.”
