Description :

This Call for Expressions of Interest is the initiative of  the EU Circular Economy Resource Centre  (EU CERC), a project financed by the European Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, and implemented by Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, and Enabel, the Belgian Development Agency. The EU CERC promotes circular economy uptake and cooperation between the EU and partner countries.

Please carefully read the guidelines, including the admissibility criteria, and make sure you provide the best information possible in the application form. Description :

The general objective of the Call for Proposals is to improve learning outcomes and the socio-emotional development of children in Africa, by having a more competent, motivated and inclusive teacher workforce.

The specific objective of this Call for Proposals is, by identifying and supporting the scaling-up of innovative solutions, to enhance the quality, relevance and effectiveness of initial and continuous teacher professional development in four thematic priorities: (1) pedagogy for foundational learning; (2) green skills; (3) digital skills and (4) gender transformative pedagogy. Please ensure that proposals align with teaching challenges spanning from early childhood to lower secondary education.

The Call focuses on providing grants to non-profit actors and public institutions as well as individual or consortia-led national or international NGOs.

The innovative solutions must have passed the early stages of ideation, prototyping and testing, preferably in the country or countries where the proposal is to be implemented.

Please note that Enabel’s Wehubit programme is used as a tool/basis for this Call for Proposals. Wehubit aligns with the IDIAs definition of innovation: a new solution with the transformative ability to accelerate (social) impact.

Description :

Enabel is organising a Call for Proposals on Data-Driven Digital Social Innovations in Africa (EUR 2.25M as parallel contribution to the Data Governance in Africa Initiative through Enabel’s Wehubit programme). This Call’s objective is to identify and support the scaling-up of data-driven DSIs implemented by public institutions, academia, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and/or Social Enterprises, in order to enhance the involvement of national and/or regional digital and data ecosystems in the development and concretisation of data use cases that aim to address societal challenges (for example bridging gender, rural/urban, connectivity and other gaps).

It will do so by providing financial support (grants up to EUR 300.000 per data-driven DSI) to a total of 7 projects (i.e. public sector, academia, CSOs, social entrepreneurs). This support will be complemented by specific capacity building activities for the identified/supported entities. By combining financial support (i.e. grants) and capacity building, the targeted entities are enabled to scale up existing (early-stage) data-driven DSIs.

Wehubit 2.0 launches its new Call for Proposals (wehubit.be). The objectives are:
1) Increase the use of and access to digital solutions as a vehicle for accelerating inclusive and sustainable development, reducing inequalities and empowering people in the partner countries of the Belgian development cooperation.
2) Scale-up a number of digital social innovations which are aligned with and relevant for the country portfolio objectives of Enabel in the respective Africa partner countries of the Belgian development cooperation.
